Back to School Sweepstakes!

Happy Back to School! It's a new school year and to celebrate getting back into the classroom and back into routine we are giving away an Educators Pack of our BlinkyBot kits.

Our Educators Packs come with enough material for 10 BlinkyBots, including felt, googly eyes, batteries, conductive thread and LEDs. Also included are our easy to follow instructions (in English and in French) and our Workshop Tips. Our Workshop Tips have been developed after hours of hands-on testing with multiple age groups. They include practical logistics and great workarounds for younger students. We want everyone to be successful with their first projects!

Our contest is open to all residents of Canada (except Quebec) and the US over the age of 18.

To enter, leave a comment on our blog telling us how you will use the Educators Pack. The winner will be chosen at random and must be able to correctly answer the following skill-testing question:

What does the L in LED stand for?

Contest closes September 30th, 2015 at midnight.

For more chances to win, share this post on social media and email me the link!

I would use the blinkybot pack to give our group (currently doing a maker junior workshop) just one more awesome activity! Stretch this whole thing a little further, since everyone is having such a great time!

A prize of an Educator’s Pack would be used in my STEM classroom at Academie de la Captiale, for the grade 1/2 and the grade 3 /4 classes. My students would love the opportunity to build something on their own with electronic components and see it work!

If for reasons beyond my control, using them in my STEM class didn’t work out, I would use them at my daughter’s next birthday party. The Doodlebots we did last year were a huge success!

I would most definitely give these to one of my son’s teachers for their class! Such a fun way to introduce making into the school environment! My fingers are crossed! :)

I would be so excited if I won! We are starting up a makerspace in my program and this would be AwEsOmE to add this to our programming.

We would love to use the kits in our coding club! Our K-3 coding club is the “test group” for our maker projects/activities that we hope to integrate in the future. Last year we spawned a robotics Explorer’s Club from the group and we continue to complete hands-on maker activities around 3D modeling and robotics in addition to work with coding concepts. All of our resources are free to use or donated. We do not have a budget for additional supplies at this time.

I’ve never seen “BlinkyBots” before and am intrigued to use them and develop some ideas with my students as to how to best showcase them.

Receiving this kit would enable my students to collaborate together, especially with my high needs students, encouraging community building and critical thinking.

If I would win, the kit will be given to students to promote making at the school. The students will be using the kit for samples to make with the students from K to Gr 6 and be given to students’ classrooms as a mascot.

I would love to win. :) I would share the blinky bots with my twins’ grade 1 class, hoping it inspire the younger makers and the educators.
